BOOM Supporting Charities

Broadway Official Online Masterclass, was founded by Dublin based theatre director and educator, Rory Hughes. Rory recognized that something had to be done to help out of work actors, dancers, and singers, whose livelihoods had been taken away from them during this pandemic. BOOM have chosen two charities to help. In Ireland, the Civic Theatre Artist Emergency Relief Fund has been selected, and , in the US the charity is Broadway Cares – Equity Fights AIDs.

The Artist Emergency Relief Fund

The Civic Theatre has established a fund to provide financial relief to Irish artists who had guaranteed income that was lost due to COVID-19. Small grants of up to €500 will be paid rapidly on a first-come, first-served basis to affected artists and groups.

Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDs

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the nation’s leading industry-based HIV/AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. We fund the social service work of The Actors Fund and award grants to AIDS service organizations nationwide. With your help, what we do together makes a difference.
